The Role
We're looking for an Inventory Control Associate to help make sure ChicknLegs inventory is accurate, organized, and accounted for throughout our warehouse.
You'll perform cycle counts, investigate inventory discrepancies, reconcile physical inventory with our systems, and help identify why inventory issues happen in the first place.
This isn't just a counting role. We want someone who is curious when the numbers don't match, can trace an issue through our systems and warehouse processes, and follows problems through to resolution. You'll work closely with Warehouse Operations, Customer Experience, Finance, and other teams to solve inventory issues and improve the processes that cause them.
What You'll Do
Inventory Control + Cycle Counting
- Perform scheduled and targeted cycle counts across warehouse locations and products
- Compare physical inventory to system quantities and identify discrepancies
- Maintain accurate inventory records within warehouse and inventory management systems
- Monitor inventory accuracy and proactively identify unusual activity, recurring discrepancies, or potential issues before they impact fulfillment
- Ensure inventory is properly organized, labeled, and stored to support accurate counting and picking
- Support physical inventories and inventory-related audits
Discrepancy Investigation + Reconciliation
- Research inventory discrepancies related to receiving, fulfillment, returns, transfers, adjustments, and other warehouse activity
- Trace inventory transactions through warehouse and inventory systems to determine where discrepancies occurred
- Reconcile physical inventory with system records and make or recommend appropriate adjustments
- Document inventory issues, findings, adjustments, and resolutions accurately
- Escalate issues requiring additional investigation or cross-functional support and follow them through to resolution
Root Cause Analysis + Process Improvement
- Investigate why inventory discrepancies occur rather than simply correcting quantities
- Identify patterns and recurring issues contributing to inventory inaccuracies
- Work with warehouse team members and other departments to understand process breakdowns and determine root causes
- Recommend and help implement corrective actions and process improvements that prevent recurring discrepancies
- Use inventory data and reporting to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency
Warehouse Operations Support
- Partner with Warehouse Operations to ensure inventory movements and transactions are recorded accurately and on time
- Support receiving, put-away, picking, packing, transfers, returns, and other inventory-related activities as needed
- Identify warehouse process gaps that may affect inventory accuracy and communicate them to the appropriate team members
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Ideal Qualifications
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, fulfillment, distribution, or a related environment preferred
- Experience performing cycle counts, inventory reconciliations, and/or inventory adjustments preferred
- Experience using a warehouse management system (WMS) or inventory management system preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to investigate discrepancies, identify patterns, and follow issues through to resolution
- Comfortable working with system data, reports, and spreadsheets to investigate inventory activity
- Able to learn new systems, processes, and workflows quickly
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with warehouse and cross-functional teams
- Able to prioritize multiple issues in a fast-moving environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to clearly explain findings, issues, and recommended solutions
- Experience in e-commerce, distribution, apparel, or fulfillment is a plus
- Strong judgment, ownership, and follow-through
