The Role

Did you grow up dreaming to design athletic apparel and seeing it in stores around the country, at all major runs and on trails during your daily run? Welcome to your dream job :)

Product Design

• Assist in the design and development of athletic apparel collections
• Help create technical sketches, tech packs, and product specifications
• Support the design team with colorways, prints, and graphic concepts
• Contribute ideas that align with the fun and energetic brand identity of ChicknLegs

Product Development

• Fabric, trim, and color research
• Prepare design files and documentation for product development and manufacturing
• Review samples and provide feedback for improvements

Performance & Functionality

• Design apparel specifically for running performance, considering mobility, breathability, durability, and moisture management
• Work closely with product development team to ensure designs meet performance and quality standards

Research & Trend Analysis

• Conduct research on athletic apparel trends, materials, and innovations
• Monitor competitor products and emerging trends in activewear

Ideal qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or related
• Portfolio demonstrating technical skills and creative apparel development
• Recent or soon graduate to 3 years of experience in apparel design 
• Previous work and/or internships in the apparel industry
• Internship experience in activewear or performance apparel
• Experience creating tech packs and technical sketches
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
• Understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and athletic apparel design
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• A passion for athletic apparel and running
• Must provide a portfolio to be considered
