The Role

Did you grow up dreaming to design athletic apparel and seeing it in stores around the country, at all major runs and on trails during your daily run? Welcome to your dream job :)

Product Design & Development

• Lead the design of running apparel collections, including shorts, tops, outerwear, and accessories
• Translate brand vision into innovative product concepts and seasonal collections
• Develop technical sketches, tech packs, and detailed design specifications
• Select appropriate fabrics, trims, colors, and construction methods for performance and comfort

Performance & Functionality

• Design apparel specifically for running performance, considering mobility, breathability, durability, and moisture management
• Work closely with product development to ensure designs meet performance and quality standards

Collaboration & Production

• Manage sourcing and manufacturing to bring products from concept to production
• Review samples, provide feedback, and refine designs throughout the development process
• Ensure products are delivered on time and meet cost targets
  

Brand & Creative Direction

• Maintain and evolve the distinct visual identity of ChicknLegs
• Contribute ideas for producs and product lines to grow our brand
• Ideate graphics, prints, and design elements that align with the brand’s fun and energetic personality
• Stay informed on industry trends, materials, and innovations in athletic apparel

Ideal qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Development, or related
• Strong portfolio demonstrating technical skills and creative product development
• 2–5+ years of experience in apparel design, technical design, or product development
• Experience in full lifecycle production: pattern making, grading, construction materials, costing, manufacturing and quality assurance
• Strong experience creating tech packs, specs, and garment construction details
• Deep understanding of performance apparel fit, grading, and fabric
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Direct experience working with factories
• Experience across athletic/sports apparel categories a must
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and CAD
• Passion for running and active lifestyles
• Experience working with growing or emerging apparel brands
• Experience designing running-specific apparel
• Must provide a portfolio to be considered
