The Role
This is a unique role that combines apparel product development, technical running knowledge, and a whole lot of creativity. We're looking for someone who can jump between creating a killer t-shirt graphic, reviewing a trim color, measuring a pre-production sample, and figuring out how to make a product even better. If you have a strong eye for design and detail, love running, and get excited about technical apparel, you might be our person.
What You'll Do
Product Development
- Review and measure prototype and pre-production samples against established specifications.
- Assist with fabric, trim, color, strike-off, lab-dip, and other product approvals.
- Evaluate garment details, construction, fit, and quality, identifying inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Communicate product requirements, feedback, and revisions to factories and vendors.
Running Product Expertise
- Bring a runner's perspective to evaluating product functionality, fit, comfort, and performance.
- Stay informed about technical running apparel, materials, construction, and industry trends.
- Help identify opportunities to improve existing products and expand our assortment, particularly in men's running apparel.
Design
- Create fun, original graphics for ChicknLegs merchandise, including t-shirts, hoodies, hats, patches, and accessories.
- Design hang tags, labels, packaging, stickers, and other branded materials.
- Maintain consistency with ChicknLegs' visual identity while finding creative ways to bring our personality to life.
Ideal Qualifications
- Experience in athletic apparel, activewear, sportswear, or performance apparel design or development.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating relevant design work. Portfolio required for consideration.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Understanding of performance fabrics, garment construction, fit, and functionality.
- Experience creating original graphics, prints, or artwork for apparel.
- Familiarity with garment measurements, technical specifications, and sample evaluations.
- Strong understanding of color, typography, and production-ready artwork.
- Exceptional attention to detail and an eye for product quality.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Resourcefulness, initiative, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed.
- Experience designing or developing running apparel, particularly men's performance apparel.
- Familiarity with technical fabrics, moisture-wicking materials, and athletic garment construction.
- Experience working with overseas factories or vendors.
- Experience with tech packs, fit evaluations, or apparel production processes.
- A running background and genuine enthusiasm for the sport.
