ET Well, I am a middle-aged woman who ordered men's shorts because I wanted more coverage. I have tried this in the past with full-length tights and baggy shorts (other brands) and it worked for me.
These shorts have a slightly lower rise than I was expecting (I could work with it, though). The part I am still wondering about is the built-in liner. I suppose I didn't read the description well enough, but I was not expecting a liner. I am tempted to cut it out; however, the crotch seams seem very prominent. The crotch, to be fair, is much 'lower' than the liner, so I think it would be fine. I am mulling it all over.
The print is, of course, very lively and fun. There are phone pockets on each leg and an additional key pocket in the liner. I will at least use them to walk the dog and such. May end up using them for running after I figure out the underwear situation.

Nicolas Stowell Couldn’t be more happy with my choice for half tights for the Pittsburgh marathon. I was able to store three 150 mL gel tubes in one pocket and my empty 400 mL flask in the other. Even some of the pacers had chicken legs! I will be using these for all future races.

Murphy Swain I really like how these fit and stay in one spot, preventing any clumping or rubbing that would ruin the run. I do wish there were more spots to hide things in the shorts but I can work with what is there. I definitely need to pick up another pair.
